We are absolutely over the moon to share some incredible news: Juni has officially placed GRAND PRIX in Music Fest's Rising Talent competition in New York City! Taking home a win in the "Big Apple" is no small feat—it’s one of the most competitive musical stages in the world. Juni’s victory is a testament to the endless practice sessions, incredible discipline, and a genuine passion for the keys. Juni's execution of Mozart's Fantasy in d minor was musical, artistic and incredibly memorable.
To Juni: Your hard work has officially paid off in the biggest way possible. We are so incredibly proud of you—keep hitting those high notes!
Did You Know? The Magic of Carnegie Hall
Since Juni is officially an NYC champion, we have to talk about the "Holy Grail" of concert halls located right in the heart of Midtown: Carnegie Hall. For over 130 years, Carnegie Hall has been the ultimate goal for musicians everywhere. Here’s why it’s such a big deal for students and music fans alike:
The Tchaikovsky Kick-off: When the hall opened in 1891, the legendary composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (the genius behind The Nutcracker) traveled all the way from Russia to conduct on opening night!
Acoustic Perfection: The architect, William Tuthill, was actually a cellist. He designed the main hall with thick masonry walls and a unique vaulted ceiling to ensure that even a whisper on stage could be heard in the very back row.
A Stage for Everyone: While it’s famous for classical greats like Rachmaninoff, it’s also hosted history-making performances by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Judy Garland.
The Famous Question: There is a legendary joke in NYC: A pedestrian asks a musician, "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" The musician looks at them and simply says, "Practice, practice, practice!" Juni, you’ve clearly been taking that advice to heart! We can’t wait to see where your musical journey takes you next. Maybe we’ll be seeing your name on a Carnegie Hall playbill very soon!
